Pious Fund of the Californias, 1700-1857.

Papers, originals and copies, concerning the Pious Fund and the California missions, especially bequests and subsequent litigation. Chief centers of controversy were the estate of Francisco Lorenz de Rada, 1749-1754, with data extending from 1700 to 1805; the will of José de la Puente y Peña, Marqués de Villapuente, and the distribution of his assets among the Jesuits in the Californias and elsewhere; and miscellaneous documents on financial affairs of the Pious Fund, chiefly 1788-1789.
